The capabilities, architecture and tooling behind every NexShapers system — explained plainly, from the first pixel to the final alert.
Eleven building blocks of visual intelligence.
Each capability is a tool with a specific job. The art is in choosing the lightest combination that answers the question reliably.
Computer Vision
Turning pixels into structured observations about the physical world.
Computer vision covers everything between a raw video frame and a usable fact: calibrating cameras, correcting distortion, locating regions of interest and extracting features. We combine classical image processing with learned models so each stage is only as complex as the problem requires.
Deep Learning
Neural networks trained on labelled examples instead of hand-written rules.
Where lighting, viewpoint and object variety defeat rule-based approaches, we train convolutional and transformer models on representative data. Transfer learning from strong pre-trained backbones keeps data requirements realistic, and careful validation keeps performance honest.
Object Detection
Finding and classifying every relevant object in a frame.
Detection models return bounding boxes and class labels for people, vehicles, products, defects or custom categories. We select architectures by the deployment target: lightweight real-time detectors at the edge, larger models where accuracy matters more than latency.
Object Tracking
Linking detections across frames into consistent identities and trajectories.
Tracking associates detections over time so a system can count, measure dwell, detect direction of travel and understand interactions. Multi-object trackers combine motion prediction with appearance features to stay robust through occlusion and crowding.
Image Segmentation
Pixel-precise outlines instead of rectangular boxes.
Semantic and instance segmentation label every pixel, which matters when shape and area carry meaning: surface defects, spill extents, road lanes, free shelf space. Segmentation outputs feed measurement and quality logic directly.
Optical Character Recognition
Reading text, codes and identifiers from the scene.
Text detection and recognition models read plates, labels, serial numbers, gauges and signage. Combined with detection, OCR turns a visual observation into a record that links to inventory, fleet or compliance systems.
Video Analytics
Interpreting what happens over time, across one camera or many.
Video analytics stacks detection, tracking and scene rules into higher-level events: a zone intrusion, a queue forming, a line stoppage. Events are the unit that operators and downstream systems actually consume.
Edge Computing
Running inference where the video is captured.
Processing at the edge avoids streaming raw video to a data centre, reduces latency and keeps sensitive footage on site. We design for edge platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, with cloud used for coordination, model updates and aggregated analytics.
Model Optimization
Making models small and fast enough for their hardware.
Quantization, pruning, operator fusion and export through ONNX to accelerated runtimes let demanding models run on constrained devices. We measure accuracy before and after optimisation so speed never silently costs correctness.
Cloud Integration
Connecting distributed devices to central intelligence.
Cloud services manage fleets of edge devices, aggregate events across sites, store long-term analytics and host training pipelines. Secure messaging between edge and cloud keeps each layer doing what it does best.
AI System Integration
Making AI output useful inside existing systems.
Inference results become APIs, dashboards, alerts and database records that integrate with video management systems, ERP platforms, access control and reporting tools. Integration is where vision intelligence becomes operational value.
From Pixels to Decisions.
Every NexShapers system follows the same flow. Scroll to trace a frame from the camera through inference, perception and analytics to the people and systems that act on it.
